Heat Lamp Therapy
What is Heat Lamp Therapy?
During some acupuncture or Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments, a Heat Lamp may be used to enhance healing and relaxation. Unlike ordinary infrared lamps, the heat lamp contains a special mineral plate that, when heated, emits a spectrum of far-infrared waves. These gentle waves penetrate the skin and muscles, helping to improve circulation, reduce pain and support the body’s natural healing processes.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, warmth is often used to dispel cold, stimulate the flow of Qi & blood and relieve stagnation. The heat lamp provides a soothing, targeted heat that complements acupuncture by encouraging deeper relaxation and enhancing the therapeutic effect of the needles.
Clients often find the warmth deeply comforting. It may be applied to areas of tension, stiffness, or chronic discomfort and is particularly supportive for conditions such as muscle or joint pain, fatigue and digestive issues.
Is Heat Lamp Therapy suitable for me?
Heat lamp therapy is safe and gentle for most people and many find it deeply relaxing and supportive. It can be especially helpful for easing muscle tension, soothing joint discomfort, improving circulation and beneficial for digestion.
There are a few cases where heat lamp therapy may not be recommended such as during pregnancy, for those with very sensitive skin, poor circulation or certain health conditions like diabetes or heart issues. In these situations, your NRQi Studio practitioner may advise against using the lamp. Together, we will decide whether it is suitable for you or explore alternative approaches to best support your treatment.
Your comfort and safety are always the priority. The lamp can be adjusted or removed at any time if you feel too warm or prefer not to use it.
Feel free to speak with Nickila if you have any questions or concerns about having heat lamp therapy.
